At the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), we’re always on the lookout for passionate individuals who can bring unique expertise and experiences to our team. Today, we’re thrilled to introduce our new team member, Apryl King, who has a deep commitment to helping businesses grow internationally.

Originally from the state of Maine, Apryl has always had an adventurous spirit. She enjoys traveling and is an avid foodie who loves exploring new culinary delights. In her free time, she also shares her life with two adorable cats and a playful corgi. But it’s her academic and professional achievements that make her a valuable addition to our SBDC family.

Apryl holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Business Administration from the University of Southern Maine. This academic background has equipped her with a solid understanding of both the political and business landscapes, which is instrumental in her role at SBDC.

Apryl’s journey in international business began in 2017, and she has been making a significant impact ever since. Her focus primarily revolves around the food, beverage, and agricultural sectors, making her a perfect fit for businesses looking to expand their horizons globally. She has adeptly supported countless companies through market research, export marketing grants, participation in trade shows, and fostering invaluable business connections through matchmaking initiatives.

Apryl’s dedication and excellence in the field have not gone unnoticed. In 2019, she was honored with the Future Global Leader award from the Maine International Trade Center, a testament to her outstanding contributions to the international business community. Moreover, she is a Certified Global Business Professional from NASBITE, further solidifying her expertise in the world of global commerce.

In her own words, Apryl shared “I am excited to join the Small Business Development Center and build relationships with clients as they face challenges and new adventures and help them strengthen their business.”
