Omnipotential Energy'S CURBSTAR

EV Charging Solutions Powering a Greener Future

The Real EV Problem

As Earth Day approaches, conversations around sustainability and clean energy take center stage. Companies like Delaware’s own OmniPotential Energy are turning those conversations into action. Addressing access and logistics needs for current and potential electric vehicle (EV) owners, OmniPotential’s Curbstar – a cutting-edge standalone EV charging solution – is ready to take charge!

As shared on their website, the problem facing electric vehicle markets is not individual demand – it’s local infrastructure. “Half of Americans aren’t able to charge an EV where they live”, shared the team. Additionally, many property owners, both residential and commercial, can’t afford to install EV chargers due to high construction costs. Property owners “would really rather not pay for hardware or installation.” While most see a barrier, OmniPotential’s team saw an untapped market.

Before seeing EV chargers installed, though, this team faced a tough path – with barriers to EV charging baked into municipal and state-wide legislation, the first stage of building up EV solutions was to work on the policy level. In 2021, OmniPotential worked with elected officials, over 1,000 EV owners, and local residents to draft Delaware SB-187 – a landmark policy built to provide guidance and an outline for municipalities to handle permitting for curbside, residential EV charging. With the path to EV infrastructure taking shape, OmniPotential was ready to meet growing demand with Curbstar™ technology.

Powering the Future: From First Deployment to Rapid Momentum

The patented Curbstar is a standalone Level 2 EV charging platform designed for commercial properties and multifamily housing. By drawing power directly from nearby transformers, rather than requiring costly building upgrades, Curbstar significantly reduces installation costs and opens the door for deployment in communities that have historically been priced out of EV infrastructure. Additionally, the technology is self-powered, offering a competitive edge. “We can add one to nearly any curb or lot in the US – providing shared EV charging without affecting the utility bills of the property owner.”

After three years of development, the Delaware-based startup reached a major milestone with the first commercial deployment of its patented Curbstar EV charger in December 2025, followed just weeks later by a $70,000 multi-unit project in Seaford. Since then, additional shipments have expanded their network across Sussex County, a remarkable shift from early development to real-world impact.

Guidance from the Delaware SBDC

Led by Founder, President, and Curbstar Inventor Cora Castle, OmniPotential has taken a unique approach to solving one of the biggest barriers to electric vehicle adoption: access to reliable, affordable charging where people actually live and work. As the company worked to bring this solution to market, OmniPotential partnered with the Delaware SBDC for strategic guidance.

Participating in iDEa Lab, Delaware SBDC’s cohort-style development for innovative companies, their commercialization plan took shape. Continuing on with Technology Business Advisors Nick, Lou, and Elyce, the team refined its customer development approach, strengthened its business model, and built a roadmap for scalable growth. OmniPotential Energy was also the winner of an EDGE Grant in 2024, helping to support early growth with a competitive capital infusion. “The Delaware SBDC has been an invaluable partner throughout OmniPotential’s journey,” Castle shared. “Their guidance helped us turn early traction into real momentum.”

With new deployments underway and a growing pipeline of projects, OmniPotential Energy Partners is helping expand access to clean transportation across Delaware. Their story is a strong example of how innovation and thoughtful growth can support a more sustainable future – one community at a time.
