ENERJOY WELLNESS
Finding Balance: Gabriela Flores Moncada’s Journey to Wellness Entrepreneurship
For Gabriela Flores Moncada, yoga has always been about more than movement. After practicing yoga for more than 15 years, she experienced firsthand how the practice could create space for calm, connection, and self-care. Over time, that personal experience grew into a desire to help others find the same sense of balance.
Today, through EnerJoy Wellness, Gabriela provides bilingual, culturally inclusive wellness services including yoga, meditation, Reiki, and holistic self-care. Her work is centered on helping individuals and communities renew, recharge, and reconnect with themselves.
Turning a Passion into a Business
Gabriela began teaching yoga after years of practicing it herself. What started as a personal journey eventually became an opportunity to support others, as she discovered how meaningful it was to help people slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and create moments of peace in their everyday lives.
Over the past five years, her business EnerJoy Wellness has continued to evolve. Gabriela has expanded beyond traditional yoga classes to offer virtual and in-person experiences, chair yoga, meditation, Reiki, and more, with programs offered in both English and Spanish. Gaining word-of-mouth popularity, her classes have grown to include people of different ages and backgrounds, with family members, friends, and even multiple generations participating together.
Community connections have also played an important role in that growth. Gabriela is proud to see EnerJoy Wellness continue to develop through partnerships with organizations such as Los Abuelos at LACC, family participation in her yoga classes, yoga in the park, retreats, and virtual offerings. These experiences have helped make wellness more accessible while allowing her to build a business that reflects her values and serves her community.
Balancing Business and Life
Like many entrepreneurs, Gabriela has had to balance the demands of running a business with the responsibilities of family and everyday life. As she worked to establish EnerJoy Wellness, she turned to the Delaware Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for guidance.
Working with SBDC advisor Maria Freudenthal, Gabriela received support in becoming more organized and focused, setting realistic goals, and taking important steps toward establishing her business. That included working toward obtaining her business license while also thinking intentionally about how her business could fit alongside her personal life and values.
“The Delaware SBDC has helped me see that it is possible to build a business that aligns with my core values, supports the lifestyle I want, and allows me to do work that truly matters to me,” Gabriela shared.
For Gabriela, that perspective has been an important part of defining what success looks like—not simply growing a business, but building one that supports the life she wants while allowing her to do meaningful work.
Creating Space for Wellness
As EnerJoy Wellness continues to grow, Gabriela is looking for new ways to bring wellness into the community. She hopes to continue developing partnerships with organizations, expand Spanish and bilingual programming, offer outdoor yoga and chakra-focused experiences, and grow her virtual wellness community.
Her approach remains centered on meeting people where they are and creating welcoming opportunities for people to care for themselves—whether through a virtual class, a community event, a family yoga experience, or time spent practicing outdoors.
For Gabriela, entrepreneurship and wellness are closely connected. Her journey demonstrates that building a business does not have to mean stepping away from the values and priorities that matter most. With the right support and a clear sense of purpose, those values can become part of the foundation for the business itself.
The Delaware SBDC is proud to support Gabriela Flores Moncada as she continues growing EnerJoy Wellness and creating meaningful opportunities for wellness, connection, and community.
