Since opening Curry & Spice Bar in Middletown, Delaware, four years ago, Miru has poured her heart into every dish served, blending traditional Indian cuisine with a modern dining experience open to all – including the Celiac community.

Worry-Free Culinary Experience

That vision recently took a bold step forward. Curry & Spice Bar now features a dedicated gluten-free cooking space and a Celiac Safe Menu—a dream that Miru had been working toward since day one. This entirely separate kitchen allows guests with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities to enjoy rich, flavorful Indian meals without worry.

As a family-owned restaurant, Miru’s staff takes pride in serving dishes inspired by the rich culinary heritage of India, from the fields of Punjab to the villages of Gujarat. Beyond the food, their creative cocktail menu is inspired by the soda stalls in India. Having seen years of hard-earned success at their flagship location in Maryland, this cultural experience has become a staple for central Delaware diners.

Expanding with Purpose and Support

Supporting Curry & Spice Bar’s growth, a partnership with the Delaware Small Business Development Center helped to navigate challenges familiar to every entrepreneur.

With this momentum, Curry & Spice Bar also earned an eight-week residency at the University of Delaware’s Perkins Center, bringing their signature flavors to a new audience of students, faculty, and staff. The opportunity not only marked a milestone in brand growth, but also deepens the business’s ties to the local community.

As if that weren’t enough, Miru was recently nominated as one of Delaware Today’s Women in Business for 2025—a testament to her dedication, innovation, and leadership in the culinary space.
