Planning and Financing
The Delaware Small Business and Technology Development Center does not loan money or provide financing, but our advisors help small business owners create the best strategy to secure the right kind of capital for their business. DSBDC also works with commercial banks as well as public sector programs, including the Small Business Administration (SBA), to maximize funding options. DSBDC utilizes lending programs through the SBA, First State Community Loan Fund and the Delaware Economic Development Office (DEDO). DSBDC advisors recommend various tools, such as the business plan outline, planning checklist, cash flow projection template, business self-assessment and loan packaging checklist.

The Business Plan
While it is important to obtain financing, it is equally as important to have a business plan to help business owners align internal goals with market demand and turn ideas into a flourishing business. Creating a sound business plan enables owners to look at the business in its entirety and provides a basis for financial planning based on goals and objectives.
